TERENA Networking Conference 2013 - Call for participation "Innovating Together"

TERENA invites you to participate in various ways in the TERENA Networking Conference (TNC2013), which takes place on 3-6 June in Maastricht, Netherlands, hosted by the Dutch national research and education networking organisation, SURFnet. Registration is now open until 24 May, with a lower-cost ‘early bird’ fee available until midnight CET on 15 April.

Through keynote speeches by renowned specialists and many parallel sessions, the conference will present an overview of the latest developments in research networking, both in the technical field and in the areas of application and management. This year’s theme is “Innovating Together” and will focus on the evolution of infrastructure and services that support research and education, examining ‘NREN 3.0’, ‘Open Science’, ‘Big Data’, ‘Creating Solutions’, and ‘Creating Infrastructures’.

*Call for participation*

All participants are invited to make the most of their time at TNC2013 by sharing ideas and information about projects and concepts during the lightning talks, poster sessions, or brand new OpenSpace sessions. In addition, postgraduate students can apply to attend the conference free of charge by submitting a poster for the student poster competition.

The deadline for submitting lightning talks, posters or student posters is *12 April 2013*.

*Lightning talks*
Give a five-minute presentation focusing, for example, on an idea, a successful project or an invitation to collaborate.

A poster presentation is an excellent advertisement tool for your projects, concepts and ideas, and can act as a great conversation starter with other TNC2013 participants.

*Student posters*
Ten will be selected and the students will win gratis registration places and will have some of their travel expenses covered - sponsored by Cisco Systems and Internet Society.

An exciting novelty this year, where the floor will be open to all participants. These Thursday afternoon sessions are part of TNC2013 so please bear this in mind when arranging your travel.

You can also contribute to TNC2013 by sharing your knowledge, ideas, information, photos and videos with TERENA and the rest of the community via Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, blogs and Facebook using #TNC2013. We also kindly invite you to follow TERENA on Facebook and Twitter to stay informed of all the latest developments throughout the Conference.

Registration can be done online: information about this and how to submit a poster, lightning talk idea/theme, or application for sponsored student attendance is available at

Don’t hesitate to book your hotel early and take advantage of early registration discounts!
